Early Risers Story Time To Begin Saturday, March 16th at 8:00 am

Story Time is back at the Blue Bunny! Beginning Saturday, March 16 at 8:00 am, the Blue Bunny will be hosting story time for those early risers and their parents/caregivers!

Blue Bunny story times have been a popular and important part of our story since the we opened in 2003.   Our greatest friendships with parents, nannies, and grandparents have come from these wonderful weekly meetings.

All storytimes include a guided reading of several age-appropriate books and a simple craft.  Always free, always open to all, never a pre-registration.  Truly low-pressure events, we understand that our littlest friends may not be able to sit for 2-3 books, and may need to move around during our readings.  And we have learned that there isn’t much that a glue stick, sparkles and stickers can’t fix.  IStorytimes are geared to children ages 2-4, although younger and older children may also attend.  Children must be supervised by an adult caregiver.

Bedtime Story Times

Bedtime Storytimes are held periodically on Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m., in collaboration with the children’s non-profit Catching Joy, an organization that promotes volunteerism beginning with young children and their families.

Our Friday evening storytimes last for about an hour, and always include stories, a simple craft, and some kind of “giving” component, whether it is a collection of items needed by local charities or having the children make cards or decorate gift bags.  Children are always welcome to wear their pajamas, and refreshments (usually milk and cookies) is provided.  Always free, and all are welcome.  No pre-registration necessary.

The Blue Bunny began its collaboration with Catching Joy founder Joy Surprenant in 2008.  Since then, The Blue Bunny and Catching Joy have collected hats, mittens and scarves for kids in need; books, pajamas, toiletries, and school supplies for the homeless; made trick-or-treat bags and party favors for kids in residential programs, cards for veterans and the homebound, and helped kids learn about the need to protect the environment, celebrate differences, and help one another.   For more information, check out www.catchingjoy.org
